A raíz de la escalada del conflicto se recomienda a los Miembros revisen cualquier escala en curso o programada a puertos en Yemen y consulten fuentes locales de confianza y/o expertos en riesgos marítimos para obtener la información más actualizada.

Nuestros corresponsales locales han informado que las fuerzas rebeldes han tomado la ciudad de Adén y que el puerto de Adén está cerrado. Tras los ataques aéreos lanzados por una coalición liderada por Arabia Saudí la posibilidad de ofensivas terrestres y navales en Yemen ha aumentado considerablemente ya que Egipto declaró estar dispuesto a enviar apoyo aéreo, naval y terrestre en caso de “ser necesario”. Los aeropuertos y puertos podrían ser posibles objetivos.

En respuesta al deterioro de la situación en Yemen la Guardia Costera de Estados Unidos (United States Coast Guard – USCG) ha modificado sus “Condiciones de Entrada para determinados Buques que llegan a los Estados Unidos desde los puertos de Yemen”. Han incluido en la lista de puertos la Terminal de Ash Shir y el Puerto de Hodeidah. Por el momento el único puerto yemení excluido de la condición de entrada es la Terminal Balhalf LNG.

Following the escalating conflict, Members are advised to urgently review any on-going or scheduled port calls in Yemen, and to consult reliable local sources and/or maritime risk experts for the most up-to-date information.

Our local correspondents have reported that the rebel forces have taken over the city of Aden, and that the port of Aden is closed. Following the air strikes launched by a Saudi-led coalition, the possibility of ground and naval offensives in Yemen has grown significantly as Egypt declared its readiness to send aerial, naval and ground support “if necessary”. The airports and ports would be possible targets.

In response to the deteriorating situation in Yemen, the United States Coast Guard (USCG) has amended their “Conditions of Entry for Certain Vessels Arriving to the United States from Yemen”. They have included to the list of ports Ash Shir Terminal and the Port of Hodeidah. At the moment the only Yemeni port still excluded from the condition of entry is the Balhalf LNG Terminal.
